First we take a look at how it all began: How did humanity acquire language and how did the confusing multiplicity of languages come into being, which the Tower of Babel stands for? Today’s language is of course particularly interesting for us. Young people, old people, different occupational groups – they all speak their own lingo. Many idioms that first originated in the kitchen (e.g. A Watched Pot Never Boils; Beauty Will Not Season Soup; First Come, First Served; Too Many Cooks Spoil The Broth; A Stitch In Time Saves Nine) are now in general use.
