The press has been repeating a rediscovered verity for quite some time now: Girls will be girls and boys will be boys. Education gets practically no say in the matter and, what’s more, this is also borne out by “research”, as education and environment can only modify the material prepared by nature. This workaday theory of the two genders – that there are two and not more and that all individuals are assigned either one or the other of those two options by nature – , whose truth content appears especially attractive in all kinds of crises, is put to the test in this presentation.
