Michael Rosenberger
Michael Rosenberger (born 1962) read Theology in Würzburg and Rome, where he was ordained in 1987. He worked as a chaplain from 1989 to 1993 in Traustadt and Markheidenfeld, and then taught Religious Instruction at a grammar school. Until 2009 he was active as a spiritual caregiver in addition to his official functions. Having graduated in 1995 from Würzburg University, he became a researcher in 1996 at the university’s Department of Moral Theology, habilitated in 1999 and was appointed associate professor. Since the winter term 2002/2003 Rosenberger is chair of Moral Theology at the Katholisch-Theologische Privatuniversität Linz. In 2004 he was made a member of the Austrian Commission for Genetic Technologies of the Federal Ministry of Health and Women; in the same year he was nominated environmental spokesman of the Diocese of Linz. Since early 2007 Rosenberger is the rector of the Katholisch-Theologische Privatuniversität Linz.
