Christian Theis

Christian Theis was born in Grünwald near Munich in 1964. He read Physics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich. In 1994 he graduated in Astrophysics from Kiel University, where he habilitated in early 2000 in Astronomy. Since 2003 Theis has been an associate professor in Vienna, where he is putting together an active team of researchers. His main areas of research are to do with the genesis and evolution of galaxies and stellar systems and with certain aspects of the evolution of planetary systems. He contributes regularly to specialist journals and is much in demand as a reviewer.
