Marianne Popp
Marianne Popp (b. 1949 in Vienna) read botany and biochemistry at Vienna University. On completion of her studies (PhD 1975) she spent the early ’80s working at the Australian National University in Canberra, where she habilitated in plant physiology in 1984. She was subsequently appointed Professor for Applied Botany at Westfalia’s Wilhelms University in Münster. In 1994 she switched to Vienna University, where at present she heads the Department for Chemical Ecology and Ecosystem Research at the Faculty of Life Sciences.
