Wolfgang Pöckl
Wolfgang Pöckl (b. 1952) read German and Romance Studies at the University of Salzburg and qualified as a teacher of German and French. He got his PhD in 1978 and an assistantship at the Institut für Romanistik of the University of Salzburg. His habilitation followed in 1988. Between 1997 and 2003 Pöckl was Professor of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Sciences at the University of Mainz-Germersheim. In 2003 he switched to the Institut für Translationswissenschaft of Innsbruck University.
