Gabriele Kotsis
Gabriele Kotsis read business informatics at the University of Vienna between 1986 and 1995. She was awarded the Heinz-Zemanek-Preis for her thesis in 1995. In 1999 she completed her habilitation in informatics at the University of Vienna. After several stints as visiting professor at Vienna’s University of Economics and Copenhagen Business School she was appointed Professor of Informatics and Head of the Institute of Telecooperation at the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz in October 2002. Key areas of her research include the analysis and development of telecooperation applications and services. The most topical issues at present are mobility, integration of multimedia and performance. Between April 2003 and March 2007 Gabriele Kotsis was President of the Österreichische Computergesellschaft (OCG). Since autumn 2007 she holds the office of Vice Rector for Research and the Promotion of Women at the JKU Linz. She has been a member of the Kepler Salon Advisory Board since 2008.
