Rudolf Albrecht
Rudolf Albrecht (born in 1946) graduated in astronomy and physics from Vienna University in 1970. He then did postdoc research at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was an assistant professor at the Institute of Astronomy of Vienna University until 1981. Great observatories where he worked as a fellow include the European Southern Observatory (Chile), the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (Chile) and the Kitt Peak National Observatory (Arizona, US). Between 1981 and 1984 Albrecht worked at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore before moving on to the Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility, where he remained until 2008. Since 2008 Albrecht has been active as a scientific-technological consultant and as a freelance contributor to Österreichisches Weltraum Forum.
